ULUWATU
Woven from a blend of slub cotton and linen, the cloth carries a surface that shifts between smooth and irregular, the slub yarn interrupting the line of the weave. The warp is assembled over six days, each thread drawn and tensioned to maintain the integrity of the stripe.
The yarns are dyed in pieces, fixed through exposure and air, then woven slowly — no more than five meters produced in a day. After weaving, the cloth is pre-shrunk, washed, and felt-ironed, bringing the fibers into alignment while preserving their variation.
The palette — grey-blue-green against off-white — recalls sea and stone, weathered and continuous.
This cloth stares out to the horizon from the shore, where land holds against water.
